Hotel Phillips Kansas City - A Hilton Curio Collection hotel Opens to much Fanfare

Acumen Development Partners is excited about the completion of the renovation of the historic Hotel Phillips in downtown Kansas City, MO.  Owned by Arbor Lodging Partners of Chicago, the property has converted to Curio Collection by Hilton. The property will host a grand opening celebration on February 24th, which is the anniversary of its original opening in 1931.

The 20 story / 217 key property showcases a luxurious design aesthetic characterized by dark woods, bronze metals and Art Deco inspired detailing. Historic features were maintained throughout the common areas including the iconic statuary in the lobby, vintage mail chutes at the elevators and architectural details in the main ballrooms.

The expansive renovation included the integration of several new F&B outlets. A cup of well-brewed coffee can be enjoyed in the Kilo Charlie Coffee Bar - it's namesake inspired by the dawn of the radio and telegraph era.  Guests and visitors alike can savor a meal at Tavernonna Italian Kitchen which features exquisite versions of classic dishes that celebrate Italy's rich culinary history. On the lower level, a 1930s speakeasy, P.S., welcomes revelers seeking good spirits and a spirited good time.

Architecture and interior design work was completed by KKAD of Chester, New Jersey. Blinderman Construction of Chicago, IL completed the public areas and Hotel Rehabs also of Chicago, IL completed the guestrooms.

The Hotel Phillips is located in the thriving Financial District of Kansas City at the corner of 12th Street and Baltimore Avenue. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1979.

The property is owned by Arbor Lodging Partners and managed by NVN Hotels.
